The SoIC IT staff needed a web app to manage their IT inventory, which at the time was being maintained on multiple spreadsheets. They also needed a better system to track usage agreements and administrative access.
The inventory app centralized asset data. It included notifications to the school’s fiscal officer when assets are sent to surplus. Usage agreements are emailed to faculty and staff automatically when a device is assigned to them.
An approval workflow was built that allows faculty and staff to request admin access. This request is routed to their supervisor and upon approval, recorded in the inventory and routed to the ticketing system to be implemented.
The initial design and development was done by me as a solo developer. Since it's launched a number of new features have been added and the UI has gone through several revisions based on feedback from the IT staff. These revisions have been done by myself or by a web developer intern with myself serving as project manager.
